How we use your information

Who we are
SMART5 Energy is a service from Smart 5 Consulting Limited (company no. 12281263, registered in England & Wales), trading as SMART5. We are the controller of the personal data described here. Contact us at info@smart5.co.uk.
What we collect
- Waitlist form: your name, email address, your battery setup, and (if you choose) your supplier, tariff and comments.
- Analytics (only if you allow it): Google Analytics 4 collects pseudonymous usage data such as pages viewed, device type and approximate location. Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses.
- Spam protection: when you use the form, Google reCAPTCHA v3 checks that you are a person. Google processes device and interaction data for this purpose.
Why we use it and our lawful basis
- To contact you about SMART5 Energy, including your founding-member invitation and free battery health check: consent, which you give with the checkbox.
- To understand how the page is used: consent, through the cookie banner.
- To protect the form from spam and abuse: our legitimate interests.
Who we share it with
We use Amazon Web Services (hosting and email, UK and EU regions) and Google (Analytics and reCAPTCHA) as processors. We do not sell your data or share it with Tesla or energy suppliers.
How long we keep it
Waitlist details are kept until 12 months after SMART5 Energy launches, or until you ask us to delete them, whichever is sooner. Analytics data is kept for 14 months.
Your rights
You can ask to access, correct or delete your data, withdraw consent at any time, or object to processing: email info@smart5.co.uk. You can change analytics consent with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of any page. If you are unhappy, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Cookies and storage
Without your consent we store only your cookie choice in your browser. If you allow analytics, Google Analytics sets cookies named _ga and _ga_* (up to 2 years).
